Team Vic is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Maria Noanoa, a great friend to our club.
Maria was a big part of the Wellington netball whānau for many years, touching the lives of so many in the community, including our club, where she coached our Premier and Premier Reserve teams, as well as volunteering as a selector at trials.
Maria gave so much of her time and energy to supporting players to develop to the best of their abilities, and she worked just as hard to develop her own skills as a coach.
As a club, we were proud to see what Maria had achieved in her netball career, including coaching, managing and selecting rep teams for NWC, and Premier coaching at SMOG, and most recently PIC.
Maria was a great supporter and friend to our club, always putting her hand up to help out when needed. She was kind, determined, and wanted to bring the best out of people. She will be greatly missed.
We extend our love and thoughts to her husband, her children, and her family and friends.
For those in the club (or wider netball whānau) wishing to pay their respects to Maria, her funeral service is Monday 13th October, Gee & Hickton Chapel, Corner of Knights Road and Cornwell Street, Lower Hutt. There will be a hakari (shared meal) to follow at Wainuiomata Marae.
If you would like to send koha, you can send this via the following bank details:
